The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Identify the Sea of Galilee and Capernaum on a map

The sea of Galilee is the large body of water in Galilee, in the northern part of the land of Israel. The Jordan river effectively flows through the Sea of Galilee, entering in the north and exiting in the south. Much of the ministry of Jesus Christ and numerous of his miracles took place in the area of the Sea of Galilee. Capernaum is the home of apostles Peter, Andrew, James and John as well as the tax collector Matthew. It also reported to have been the home of Jesus himself. It is located near the Sea of Galilee.

How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him?" a "New" commandment?

Loving Jesus intimately gives no logical reason why obedience will be out of the picture. If we love Jesus with full intimacy, we would fully obey His teachings and laws. Being a Christian, isn't always "cool", meaning there'll be more trials and temptations and Jesus never hide this fact from us. But it is love that will keep us abiding His will and teachings.
