Why does Jesus describe to his disciples how disobedient, ignorant and lazy servants are punished by their master, and how obedient, alert and active servants are given greater authority?

So that they will realised their correct way to follow Christ and obey God's words. Our time in this world are short, so we should make use of our time to obey God to obtain salvation and eternity.

What are the benefits and disbenefits (costs) of worrying?

Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. We should worry what we need in this world , for God knows our needs and prepare for us. But seek God's Kingdom, all these things will be added to you. We should worry and have faith in God.

Why did Jesus notice the widow`s gift and tell his disciples?

I never see poor people still want to put money into church treasury considering they are the one who poor and suppose to receive gift from people, Jesus amaze after what the poor widow did. I dont amaze a bit if a Rich man can give to the church treasury even a million dollar because he give that money from his richness. This is what Jesus want to tell to his disciples: not how much money you give but give it with all your heart,
