What is compassion, and do you possess it?

Compassion for me is being openess to help others ,willingness to help others.....Most of the time i possess it but for people that maybe i can say nearer to leper,To them i had weak compassion to which i'm developing now.

What is compassion, and do you possess it?

Compassion is the deep awareness of the suffering of another coupled with the wish to relieve it. God is merciful, full of compasion for sinners and those suffering.

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

eing juman, Jesus also experienced physical and emotional pain as consequence of sin. That is the reason He took over the consequence which shoul have been our punishment. jesus related to human pain as we relate to the pain He suffered to take our plae. Not everyone can relate or comprehend spiritual separation from God but all know and have experienced and suffered physical and emotional pain. We know waht the pain is like to be physically beaten, torture and emotionally rejected and humiliated in a lesser degree. It was important for the purpose Jesus was sent for for us to understand how much God loves us so we can believe and accept the truth and be able to return to our true home in heaven.
