How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him?" a "New" commandment? Jesus links intimacy to him (GOD) through doing what the Father wants. He then links himself with him (man or us-people) through his words. That is, constant "hearning/listening to the word of God" comes faith. Faith is the fruit of love. If His words - commandments are kept by the us, that would simply mean that we, in turn, love Him since He first loved us.The bottomline here is love that begets obedience. It is love that links Jesus' intimacy to God and to us.

If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss? I would discuss about wisdom. Since I have a lot of limitations, sometimes, I coudn't fathom in an instant, the implications of circumstances, I need Jesus' brilliant insights on this.
