What is so good about fasting? Why fast? Depriving yourself of food and water makes you realize how much you need these things in order to survive, and the Lord is generous and gracious enough to provide you with it. It also strengthens character in that you can test yourself in instant self gratification. Fasting cleanses us both of toxins in the body and in the soul.

How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him?" a "New" commandment? close relationship.... always commune with Him througy prayers, personal praise and worship and meditate upon His word.
