The prophesy about the birth of Jesus, the King of Jews, threatened the current administration so they were troubled. The time of temptation which Jesus went through was actually a test of spiritual growth. If one is righteous in his teaching and stronghold, nothing can come and destroy it. The "victory" of Jesus to overcome the temptations only proves that Jesus indeed loves his Father so much that nothing can make Him ran away from the Kingdom of God. Why was all of Jerusalem troubled about the birth of Jesus?

How did (does) repenting prepare someone for the Kingdom of God? Repentance is an act that should come before confession. One must confess his sin or his wrong doing before the Lord. Only one that is aware of his sin and admitted it shows that he felt sorry and he wanted to change. This is when repentance comes in. Repentance is an act of turning away from evil and maving towards the good. Kingdon of God is not for "sinners" who never repent.
