It was already foretold that Jesus will be crucified to save us all, so whatever Jesus will say they would not still believe Him. Why do you think Jesus did not speak to Herod nor answer Pilate? Jesus didn't contempt of court but had knowing about Herod and Pilate couldn't do whatever else because as God's His Father will be trough on occasion of the way of His death to salvation all of us as a human beings.
