They did not answer Jesus because they don't know how to answer them correctly, they were doubtful of what they might answer that may cause them trouble. because they don't believe that Jesus was the son of God. And they are afraid that the people would know the truth. What did Jesus state as the primary purpose of the temple, and how might this apply to today? His temple is a place of prayer. We must treat this place as a sacred place, we must put due respect on holy places.
