Based on Jesus` story, how does God the Father feel when a lost child returns home?

He rejoices and He feels like celebrating. He has found what He had lost. Like us parents, God becomes joyous when an astray child comes back home. You welcome him with open arms, forgive his trespasses, forget what he has done in the past and just love him and love him because he has now come back into the fold and to you. I think that is how God feels when we come into His arms after wandering and being astray.

God the Father is very much happy and glad when we returned to Him each time we sinned,He is joyful each time we came back to Him and repent for our mistakes done.

Eyeing God as a Father, and our Father, will be of great use in our repentance and return to him. It will make our sorrow for sin genuine, our resolutions against it strong, and encourage us to hope for pardon. God delights to be called Father both by penitents and petitioners. He expressed his kindness before the son expressed his repentance; for God prevents us with the blessings of his goodness. This denotes how swift God is to show mercy.
