What do you value so much that if you lost it, you would do everything possible to find it?

With all honesty, I don't give much value to anything, nor friends. For me, it is my family that i give much value although at present, I am trying to build relationship with God. I am trying to deepen my faith with Him. Based on what I am learning, I should give Him more value and I am now more thatn ever, convinced that I should not lose God in my life. I know life without God is like living aimlessly.

My new relationship with God. I was a casual Christian before until He healed me (literally) and I found Him again.

Why does Jesus tell the growing crowd that one must be willing to renounce everything, including one`s own life, to be Jesus` follower?

To be a true follower of Jesus, one must give up himself completely and totally to God; meaning he must be ready to turn away from all his worldly ties and possessions. Jesus requires total trust and obedience. You cannot do it partially or half and half. That is our cross to bear, the giving up of everything in this world, money, loved ones, possessions,career, etc. if we choose to follow him and be his disciple.
