Joseph from the town of Arimathaea was a wealthy Jewish religious leader. What risk did he take and why was he willing to do this? Note: Isaiah 53:9 - "And they made His grave with the wicked, But with the rich at His death."
Joseph of Arimathaea risked his own life and his being a religious leader when he asked Pilate to released to him the body of Jesus but because he himself was looking for the Kingdom of God, Joseph might have the belief that Jesus was really the Son of God.

Joseph of Arimathea was a courageous man. He risked his life and reputation as a council member by what he did to Jesus' body. I think he did it because it says in the Bible Joseph was also seeking for the kingdom of God. He probably did not acknowledge his acceptance of Jesus' preachings but giving Jesus a decent burial reflects that Joseph is a believer or had come to believe Jesus.
