yes i strongly believe that the presentation of jesus in the temple was a divine direction by the holyspirit ,just look at the case of simeon a devout christian and filled with the holyspirit he was so desirous to see the MESSIA for a purpose and he knew for sure that seeing the lord will be a thing of joy and to fullfill what the law says.

jesus knew what is about to take place even in jerusalem because the the whole event has been foretold but he persisted so that the work he was sent to be fullfiled ,he even knew that he is going to die ,he even have the complete knowlege that one his own disciples will betray him he did not argue for the word of the prophecy be fullfilled ,he obeyed till the end ,jesus has the complete knowlege of what was going on in jerusalem but because of the aboundant grace in him he waited till the end ,the cleansing in jerusalem is a demostration of jesus truthfulness in telling people their wrong doing,he also demostrated complete trust and faith he has in his father ,jesus remain faithful till the end ,there is nothing that happen to him in jerusalem he did not know .

Jesus has accomplished all his purpose while he was here on earth by bringing peace and salvation to man kind ,he died that we may have a everlasting life ,Gods purpose for man is to be like him which he did by giving man the power to have dominion over all he has created
