Why do you think Peter was so emphatic and yet so wrong about denying Jesus?

Though the denial was already predicted by Jesus and it had to come true, even Peter, such a strong man of faith, lost faith and denied Jesus at the time when his support was so important to Jesus.

Peter is among them elderly person, and uneducated he is very innocent person he loves Jesus so much that is why if any body will say anything about Jesus peter couldnt contolle. the great temptation that was ahead of him.
