Jesus delayed for two days because he was in Bethany at that time and not in Judea where Lazarus was. Judea was quite far away from Bethany. Secondly, He wanted to perform the greatest miracle by raising Lazarus from the dead, this would glorify the Son of God and at the same time this miracle would open the eyes of the spiritually blind people, thus making them realize that Jesus truly is the Son of God.
