Our heart should be like that of the child, humble and innocent. Jesus implies that to such people who are open to his teachings and do not depend on their presumed goodness, beongs the Kingdom of God.

The Tax collector is humble  , standing afar off ,would not so much  as raise his eyes to heaven but beat his breast  saying God be mercful to me a sinner
