Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

once jesus felt he hda borne the penalty for the evlis of mankind he declared his mission as accomplished this relates to jesus earlier mission statment to sacrifce himself or others jesus is not justphysically punished .If just spirtual separtion from god the people will say jesus is god not son of god .jesus came down from heaven because of lots of sin in this world jesus wants to distried the evils.the symbolism of the veil being torn in times that with jesus paying the penalty for mankinds sins sacrifices were nolong necessary and evereone can enter the precence of god.
