Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

Yes He does & it is proven in His word. He sat with taxcollectors, they were not liked by most people, children will inherit the kingdom of God, the last cent of a poor person is more valuable than all the money of the rich. Jesus looks at the heart not who you are or what you own!

Define "Compassion"?

Definition of compassion: 'a deep sorrow for another's suffering accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering'... Jesus had compassion for the hungry, the blind, the outcasts(leper), the grieving. He acknowledged their suffering but He also did the impossible about it, He took action to help alleviate their suffering!

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

Jesus was an ordinary person. He was a typical little boy, disappeared while his parents frantically searched for Him & all He said was, why did you worry? He also worked with His dad as a carpenter. His life wasn't any different from ours that is why He can relate to us & understand our needs & our human nature.
