Why did Jesus challenge the disciples to "give them (5000 people) something to eat" before multiplying the food?

Because JESUS already knew their "THOUGHTS" (Faith) as they were not expecting that with those five loaves of bread and the two fish, JESUS can multiply it to feed the five thousand men.

In addition, we should always be content with the little we have/get, and to be willing to share it with others with faith in our lord JESUS CHRIST, as HE will always multiply it as long as we're willing to share it with others.

Why did the people ask Jesus to leave their region after they heard about the pigs?

The people were afraid of what JESUS can do in their region because of their ungodly and superstitious mind, as they were told how powerful THE ALMIGHTY was when HE commanded the demons to come out of the man, and how the uncleaned spirits came out and entered the pigs,and how they rushed down into the sea and were drowned. In addition, maybe the people were worshiping idols or different kind of gods.

How did the disciples

The disciples' feared before the storm differs that they will perish. But when JESUS awoke and rebuked the wind and commanded the sea to be still, they feared HIM because of HIS great power, saying to themselves that even the wind and the sea obey HIM.

In addition,we should always have faith in JESUS, no-matter whatever storm (problem) we're facing or going through in life. AS JESUS asked them why they have no faith.

JESUS once said, be still and know that I AM THE LORD.
