Why do you think Jesus brought the man outside the village before performing the miracle? Not looking for worldwide fame. Not boasting the miracles. See one of this year 22nd Sunday of ordinary time readings. As promised in the Old Testament. False prophets speak out falsities trying to silence the truth hide it with their confusing deafening noise. True prophets, and Jesus is the promised Messaiah, act the saving truth. Which `speaks` for itself....leaving an unforgettable mark im people hearts and memories.Its not a public big show. But Spiritual sight is restored in the quietness almost secrecy of the relationship with Jesus. Again i cant help thinking of the confessional.

What was Jesus trying to teach the disciples? Note: Jesus left twelve baskets full when he fed the 5000 people on the Israel side (Israel had 12 main regions or tribes). Prefiguring the establishment of the Church with all its subdivisons in the sense of Archidioceses and parishes. The flock is large and is everywhere in the world and it needs a good organisation. The baskets, they also make me think of the numberless vessels from which his Precious Body is offered to the worldwide flock.
