What is the Christ? How is it different than one of the prophets?
Christ means anointed one. The announced one by the prophets. Confirmed by the anointing ceremony ''OT anointing of the priests by i imagine another higher authority priest''. And who anoints him? one cannot help but to be struck by the episode wehre the hands, now clean ''clean heart'' of the greatest sinner Mary Magdalene anoint the Sacrificial Lamb before THE Sacrificial ceremony. That will bring freedom to all.

Mark`s Biography of Jesus - Peter`s Confession of Christ
I guess that Christ wanted to remain unknown, as it would allow Him to inlfiltrate the Roman world, in order to better achieve the goal of turning man back to God. I wish He was still here, doing exactly that. Amen, and God Bless

What is the Christ? How is it different than one of the prophets?
christ is the teacher, the messiah.he is the word that has become flesh.he is that part of the trinity of God.the father in heaven, the son ''jesus''and holy spirit.jesus is god who came to this world in the flesh and lived among us to preach the coming of the kingdom of god.he is one with God.as for the prophets they were messangers of God, who came to preach about the coming of God.they preached about the messiah.some of them were more were favoured by God more than others, thus were given more miracles than others.those were the ones that God spoke to them face to face like moses.others only heard the voice of God.as for jesus he was god , the word that became flesh & sacrificed himself for the salvation of all mankind once and for all.

Peter`s Confession of Christ
The Christ is the man prophets have been talking about since the prophetic times. Christ is the savior and the Messiah the people have been waiting for as foretold by many prophets.

The anointed one
The one anointed with the Oil of the Holy Spirit. Before maybe it was more symbolic than real. The gesture anticipated the Baptism in the Spirit.

Peter's Confession of Christ

Jesus went out, with his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples, "Who do men say that I am?"
They told him, "John the Baptizer, and others say Elijah, but others: one of the prophets."
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Peter answered, "You are the Christ."
He charged them that they should tell no one about him.
