What was in the heart of this one man that the other nine men seemed to lack?

Gratitude. Indebtness. Sense that that healing was not due but a gift.And the courage to speak his joy loud: he was a Samaritan and not a member of the people to whom the Saviour had been prophetised for ages.Struck to the ground by the gratuitous weighty gift he rose his prayers to the Lord that so had manifetsed himself.Without underestimating in the least waht was expected for granted - and paradoxically not seen when reveled.

What part of this teaching by Jesus do you find hard to accept and why?

Maintaining trust after a numbers of stumblings but they are those stumblings...Why? fear that someon you care for will fail me on something important again. Don't i do the same though? too bad on me :) Jesus is patient with me and so should i. Must i. Santa Pazienza! my paternal grandma used to say :o

What about this story disturbs or comforts you?

That the rich man can see Lazarus from Hell is both disturbing and comforting.Adds pining to the distance, though again probably the rich man is in Purgatory and seems to be still attached to his evil nature. He does not long to be with God and repent, but is envious and bossy and commands God to send him Lazarus. What's the official teaching on this?
