When answering John`s question about whether He was the Christ, why did Jesus point out the results of his ministry rather than just saying yes or no?

Reminds them of the deeds so that those Thomases can touch the truth. Not words like a yes or a no as anyone can say, but reminds them of all that he performed as was promised in the OT by the prophets. I am the one who did waht they prophetised. Deeds are his banner for recognition. If you have eyes to see...the woman asking for healing had all those words stamped in the haert. Not to sound diminishing but she ahd the identikit of the promised saviour stamped in the heart and when she saw him her heart leaped like all faithful believers.

Why do only some choose to accept Jesus and others oppose Him and His followers?

Have you read parable of the different type of grounds? kidding ..i mean i think of that example to understand this. Remembering that as harvesters we are also called to plough the toughest grounds and lovingly remove the rocks that allow ...Jesus to be planted in or him to raise from the tomb if dead crucified by our sinfulness or any experience of life that led us to nail him with a no...he never leaves us though.

What types of people are suited to be laborers in the harvest for Jesus?

Anyone whom Jesus pats on the shoulder and calls. Any skill talent can be put to good use. Main thing is a firm deeply meditated yes showing truly strong will to roll up one's leaves and start harvesting.We are all called to be planting and watering and harvesting for Jesus each in his own role as given by the Almighty.
