Why is this old man Simeon so excited to meet this baby Jesus?

Can you give me some reasons why he shouldn't? see the answers already provided by all my friends :) You know what it makes me think of this scene? of the olympics, the passing of the testimony from one runner to the next. The old one tired as promised flies up to Heaven liek the youong one descended to us. And Simeon was gifted withs special wisdom. The wisdom of the Father. See the temple scene.

Who did Jesus think of as his real Father?

His Heavenly Father the Almighty in Heaven who spoke through his heart and guided his steps. Pouring in the answers as he was faced by the hard questions of the Pharisees. Only 12 ...he deeply loved Jospeh too though but he knwe that like with his motehr Mary had to leave the nest and spraed the Verbum flowing through him like that dove.

Any good works, be they deeds or works of mercy, but first of all the act of contrition that squeezes out of our trunks and branches the bad lymphs that poison the tree. Repentance that comes from feeling we have not been walking on the Path and the desire for guidance.
