Pray that you don`t enter into temptation.
Pray that you don`t enter into temptation. Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation. Not once but twice he invites them to pray not to enter into temptation. A call to aware careful walking - knowing where we are placing our steps and what it`s more likely to make us stumble. Spiritual eyes fully open. Steer away from the evil one learn to detect his approaching not waiting till he`s too close or already inside us. Calmness of the soul that makes us stronger and more efficient defenders of our inner castle.

The two traitors
But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table. The Son of Man indeed goes, as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed! When he says determined I start putting into question my preceding answer regarding Judas: did he have no choice then? also read I think that he finally condemned himself when he killed himself and did not ask for forgiveness ''the Cathechism would say that he was in such a state that he was not in control and so we can hope he was saved and went to Purgatory''. Peter on the other hand cried bitter tears and asked for forgiveness. Also striking the fact that he doesn`t mention his name when talking about the betrayal, but makes very precise references to Peter telling him exactly what will happen. why? to a degree it seems that Peter is more guilty than Judas as he did not stop in front of the signs whereas judas was left freer. I don`t know? how do you see it? and what`s the official explanation? is it to show us the extenct of God`s loving and forgiveness? Peter acted in full knowledge - it was a mortal sin and he was forgiven due to his sincere contrition. He was even the one on whom Jesus founded the Church. Judas stumbled in darkness and Jesus had alerted everyone. On the other hand you can say that Peter acted more in panic whereas Judas was far more calculating in dealing with the scribes. What do you say? very helpful opportunity to reflect on the nature of ours sins.

How responsible is Judas?
It says that Satan took possession of him sneaked in. So he was not free. Could you also say that it was God`s plan? But when you think that Jesus could have turned the cup away - he said no to Satan tempting him to disobey the Father ''or the 40 days in the desert''. So Judas had free will and he opened the gate to Satan. He let him in. Makes you think what am I doing to secure the castle of my Soul? are its wallls strengthened enough by prayer? is is solidly resting on His Commandments? is it regularly cleansed through prayer? how is our spiritual immune system? is His Blood running through our spiritual veins feeding every single bit? And when we see signs of a spiritual illness are we seeking the doctor - confession and guidance? Judas was probably the weakest of the 12 and not willing to seek such help.So Satan had the better on him.
