What was in Jesus` heart that made him weep as he looked down on Jerusalem?
Sadness to see Jerusalem rejecting him or better losing its hopes of salvation. He praises the disciples for shouting his name openly in recognition as he humbly rides to his final martyrdom for our salvation. Pilate would have saved him. But the crowds publicly put their thumbs down in condamnation. He rejoices at those who aknowledge him and the Father and so gain salvation.

Why was Zaccheaus so joyful when Jesus asked to stay at his house?
Because he is a sinner and has the humility to aknowledge that and is joyfully surprised to be treated by Jesus like a friend. Taken by his enthusiasm - you must hurry up and revecieve me. It comes as an order. Jesus asks to be let in. Humility and joy in being received in the house of a sinner. Jesus stands by him and he responds positively. He already showed openness and joy by climbing on the tree to see him - all that he willingly but humbly asked to. Just a glimpse. He knocked and he was given.

What personal philosophy or mindset diverted Jesus from ever using violence?
The disciples call for vegnance as they are angry to see Jesus rejected. He says that he came to bring salvation not to destroy human life. It`s not so much turning the other cheek but offering a constructive hand being meek and humble and not to give in to resentment and anger. When wounded answer with love. Accepting more wounds should they come all in the name of that Law of Love that he brought to us. Be injured rather than injure. So many practical examples in life in dealings on work or family difficult relationships .- hard to think of one on the spot. Just think of when you were treated rashly or unjustly - right now dealing with a very tough and unreliable client for a translation - and even though you come back home foaming at the mouth for the injustice of not being paid for a job done you think of how to deal with the person justly. Not to fall in the devil`s trap ''and persevering like the persistent widow''. He`s teaching us a powerful combination of toughness and meekness rooted in righteosuness and the faith that should we lose in this world, we are gaining a victory in the one that truly matters.
