What have you heard now (from or about Jesus) , that you may not understand until later?

The crucifixion and the scourging etc is here anticipated as written in the OT too. The disciples cannot understand or maybe they cannot accept that the Son of God will undergo all this. Let alone understanding about the Resurrection - like when he said that he would rebuild the temple in 3 days. Thing is that we know beforehand for the disciples it was all new. On the other hand they actually witnessed it all - apart from not recognising him straight away on the road to Emmaus. We have to trust them and they had to trust God. Jesus himself? Have faith he would have said...probably. Easier for us or them to believe?

What characteristics of a rich person make it harder to receive the Kingdom of God?

Attachment to earthly possessions hence selfreliance and feeling that he can do without God. Danger to fall into pride. Possibly selfishness too. Everything is on loan to be used for the good of others. Obeying to the Commandments is the minimum a duty.

What characteristics of a little child allow the child to better receive the Kingdom of God?

Complete trust and abandonmement in the care of those who love them. Innocence too. Which also makes them more vulnerable and in need of protection thats why Jesus says that harming an innocent one is the worst possible harm. They stand for our most vulnerable self. When we feel at our weakest - and we are without allpowerful God - we always need to call on Him in full trust.
