984 entries for this category: Compassion ``If you WANT to, you can make me clean.`` - moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, ``I WANT to. Be made clean.`` Compassion means feeling for - cum patere - sharing in the feelings of somebody. And willing to offer the help that that person needs. So many times we read in the Gospels that Jesus is moved by compassion and acts accordingly. For example when he is looking for solitude and he is followed by the crowds he stops and lends a healing hand. Definetely growing as a Christian has helped me growing in compassion something that I had but that i risked losing not having had a Catholic background. It`s having attentive eyes and ears for the world outside and a ready hand. Plus the same attentiveness in listening and following God`s guidance through an attentive reading of the whole Scriptures and following the guidance of the Church. I`m cultivating it.

the statement AND the action Morn! The first action is an action of healing. He provides the people around with some sensorial proof of his powers - a man who could not walk before stands up and walk. I seem to remember that often there are references to the ears and eyes - don`t you have ears and eyes to see - although also faith - blind childlike trust is needed. Somewehere he says you have eyes but do not see ears but do not hear. Here is the importance of prayer trusting leaning toward God. The real miracle is the healing of the man from his sins as Jesus says explicitly but as the Pharisees do not want to beleive he stresses the sensorial miracle just performed: before that man could not walk and now he can walk away taking away his own mat.

praying Morning! That he`s always lookjing for a deserted solitary place to be able to hear God`s word in the silence and that then he rises up into action. We all need to find moments where we refocus o God`s word before we can move on.
