Why did the multitude want Barabbas released rather than Jesus? Surprsingly the one who robbed them of their monetary wealth and not the one who robbed them, to their eyes, of their hopes in a new kingdom. Not the earthly one, but the one of the soul. They failed to see that. They did not hang on Hope like Judas. Jesus released them all though showing the way to eternal life.
