Since we have God`s promise of support, why do we still worry?

We have the promise but we are not God. Waiting for that promise to be fulfilled in one's life seems like forever. Besides, there are days when you call on Jesus, and He keeps silent like He has gone for holiday somewhere far from His throne, this automatically causes worry because most issues we take to God are for Him alone to work upon and so when He remains silent, one is like, my God, why have you abandoned me.

What things do you treasure? In what things do you delight? What does this tell about you?

I treasure my life, my family, my job, my pastors, and several other things, besides mentioning the Holy Spirit and the Redeemer that lives in me.

In what things do I delight?

I delight in being happy, feeling the presence of God around me, seeing others happy, and speaking about the goodness of God.

What does this tell about me?

Simply because I cannot tell about myself, I can't know much. But what i'm sure of, poeple around me know that I am a Christian, happy although reserved at most times, and I love people.

I would like to know about fasting and how about to go. It has been a struggle for me. I been told by collegues(christians) that to fast I have to have a genuine reason and during fasting I have to make time to pray (or maybe read the bible). I am kind of lost and would appreciate if anyone out there would be able to guide me through. Thank you.
