Power of Prayer

Do many of you have experiences of the power of prayer. Maria in our Church had major heart problems and was on the transplant list for a new heart. We had all been praying for Maria for her condition to improve and for her to have a full recovery if that was our Lords wish. When Maria went for her assessment before her transplant the Consultant ordered many tests to be carried out and found out that her heart had healed itself. He asked Maria what she felt had brought this miraculous healing. When she told him having faith and the power of prayer. I wanted to share this with you because there are times we all need to believe that faith can move mountains. Praise be to God

How did John`s testimony prepare people to receive Jesus and His message?

Because he fulfulled Isaiah's prophecy, and made straight the way of Jesus.

He made the people aware that Jesus the Messiah was about to come and that Jesus would be much greater than he.

John was creating quite a stir himself and the people had faith in him, so for him to say he was nothing compared to Jesus who was about to come really meant something.

Why was sending Jesus to live on earth such an effective way for God to tell people about Himself?

Jesus is the Word of God. If someone wants to communicate something they use words. God being God though doesn't just broadcast some words through a speaker - He sends His Word in the flesh to live amoung us.

This was so effective because of Jesus' intimacy with God.

God wanted to tell us not just anything but that He loves us. He did this by giving to us His dearest Son.
