Why does Jesus keep telling the disciples that he is about to die? Jesus wanted them to be strong and prepare themsleves to take over his ministry. I think he also wanted to be sure that they are ready to preach the Kingdom of God without him, because I believe that Jesus had to make sure that they are people prepered enough to preach the gospel to the nations before he had to go back to the Father.
