Jesus pointed states, that his way was very different to the old Jewish way.

In fact Jesus in parable says, that in fact no one would be able to practice the old Jewish ways and be able to properly follow his way.

Why did Jesus forgive the mans sins first and heal afterward?

Jesus considered the forgiving of sins was more important than the curing the paralysis.

The message here is that, we are to consider the forgiveness of sin more important to our personal comfort.

Why did Jesus heal by touching the man with leprosy (a contageous disease) ?

Jesus wanted to reward the man for his faith but Jesus knew also his own journey did not involve getting leprosy.
