Why was it evil for the scribes and Pharisees to ask a sign from Jesus?

They saw and yet doubted. Their pride and disbelief blinded them even to obey the Law to the word.They tried testing the Powers of Jesus. This chapter in Matthew always reminds me of what its like in todays world, where we all have resumes for our work, jobs or professions. Question is: is it a true indication of our capabilities? or are we like the scribes and Pharisees whereby their resumes say one thing and they fall short on delivering on the contents of their resumes.

What did the Pharisees say against the Holy Spirit and why was it such a serious offense?

Even as Pharisees they could not differentiate the difference between the Holy Spirit and evil. They attributed The miracles that Jesus did to the deeds of the dark forces.Jesus emphasises the points of difference between the forces of evil and the deeds of the Holy Spirit,and is quite clear in His explanation of the two spirits.

Why didn`t Jesus want those He healed to make Him known?

To make Jesus known would be contradictory to the Jesus character, For He was humble, loving and compassionate. Jesus came to be the foundations, of the New Covenant, and needed to proceed with His teaching and Healings without hinderance from those that disbelieved or His persecutors.
