When I left a period of relative stability in my life; studying a bachelor of arts and working as a clerk, to mental illness and unemployment, my self confidence and beliefs fell to an all time low. I went into a therapeutic community for 20 months, at Richmond Fellowship. No one from the Anglican churches I had been attending seem to be able to help. God gave me a verse, when I went into respite at an Anglican Convent. Matthew 11:28: If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light. I finished my bachelor of arts. I also learnt from the time in the convent that the priniciples of permaculture and ecological sustainability are written in God`s agricultural laws in the bible. God believed in animals free ranging and that crops should be rotated and some field rested. Every 50 years there is a huge celebration, the jews don`t work and all debts are forgiven. I would study the jewish law and moses, when I went to be reborn again in a baptist church. My old life of self reliance was disappearing and a new life of reliance on God and discipleship was beginning. God`s spirit is love, happiness, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness and self control. And scripture warns don`t be conceited or make others jealous by claiming to be better than they are. I had to learn to leave a human spirit of immorality, debauchery, worshipping idols of materialism, jelousy, anger, selfishness, witchcraft, coveting and envy. God teaches us to use our resources to acheive goals. Don`t compare your life to others, you will always fail. Although Apostle Paul admitted it was only human to be in constant struggle between the flesh and the spirt.

To be loved by god is the core of our whole existance, we were created in his image because god loves us and wants us to have a relationship with him. when we give our lives to jesus we begin that relationship. He wants us to follow his commandments, but when we fail to do this we fall short of Gods glory, But God loves us and forgives us.

Yes, jesus truly believes lowly people are valuable, perhaps even more so than those people who are full of self importance, who look down at other people for whatever reason. There is an innocence in people who are lowly, a more realistic essence to them, jesus saw this in them, and perhaps some of the messages in the bible we can identify with, in adopting simplistic qualities that lowly people possess. Jesus loves everybody yet in his dealings with sick, children and `lowly` people is teaching us what qualities are important in christians and what valuable lessons we can learn from so called lowly people
