1025 entries for this category: Jesus is reported as fasting in order to pray to God. The old Jewish ways required regular fasting as part of ritual. Jesus, showed a departure from these old ways and placed emphasis on love and not revenge. This new approach required a different mindset or "a fresh wineskin". Why did the people ask Jesus to leave, even after He delivered the two demon-possessed men? I beleive it was because he proved to those around him that he was the son of god and he had the power to heal, which scared them. I feel deep down in their hearts they knew who Jesus really was, and that he was doing the work of his father, which only a few at the time knew about.
