How does being forgiven increase ones love for God? Note: According to Jesus, God`s forgiveness is motivated by love.
Because God has forgiven us, without us earning it ''in other words because of His grace'', we are grateful to God for giving us something we did not deserve. God loved us first while we were still rebellious, and not interested in pleasing Him. His forgiveness wipes out our shame and guilt and we are free to love Him in return. As we love Him, He continues to change us through His Holy Spirit residing in us.

Forgiveness & Love
Jesus said ``he who is forgiven little, loves little``. This could then mean that only someone who screws up alot can really love alot. If you don`t do anything to be forgiven for, you won`t be forgiven much, and therefore can`t love as much? Hmmm. Interesting sort of backwards thought.

Forgiveness isn`t always easy.
Being able to forgive those who have done wrong to you or your loved one`s is freedom. Freedom from guilt, hurt, and pain. It isn`t easy all the time because we want to give hurt for hurt. But in order to recieve the fullness of forgiveness from GOD for our wrong doings, we must give forgiveness. We must be like water off a ducks back, and not hold grudges.

God forgive us, if we ask.
God forgive us , if we ask. Jesus taught us many parables and that we have to ask for forgiveness. In Hebrew 8:12 God mentioned that ``I will forgive their wickedness and remember their sins no more. So we also have to forgive others as stated in Matthew 18 :23-35 when Jesus taught us the parable . Thank you Lord forgiving my sins and give me a forgiving heart to forgive those who persecuted me. Romans 12 : 14 to bless those who persecute you and do not curse. These are all God`s command that we should learn to love them.

And when he had begun to settle them, there was brought to him one who owed him ten thousand days wages. But since he did not have the means to repay, his lord commanded him to be sold a, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made. The slave therefore falling down, prostrated himself before him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will repay you everything.' And the lord of that slave felt compassion and released him and forgave him the debt. ( Matthew 18:23-35)
