Why did Jesus not simply say, God loves you? He phrased it like we have to proove our love by following Jesus, for him to love us. This is different to common church teachings. The answer might be in which version of love he`s talking about. Research is

Jesus said that a `sign` of us loving him is that we do what he asked us to do. John 14:23. ''My interpretation.'' As opposed to do what Jesus asked us to do to `proove` our love for Jesus. I interpret it like this because it a. sounds better and b. makes sense when you compare this verse with others.

From what I see according to Jesus God loves us so much that He desires to have us ALL to come and live with him eternally. So He gave up His only Son to die on the cross to save us from our penality of sin. But He also raised Him from the grave so that we too may be raised. God loves us and cares for us and offers to us a joyful, peaceful, anxiety free life. And He still loves us so much to offer this to us and gives us free will to accept or decline to receive God`s free gift of Grace. Will you accept?
