In the first place Jesus knew what his mission was, the whole idea was to let the disciples know ok this is why i am here this is why i came so that i might be glorified, so i have to die, and on the third i will raised up again and be with you always.

Why does Jesus keep telling the disciples that He is about to die?
Jesus was gearing His deciples for the mission of spreading the good news. Jesus was also alerting His deciples so that they are able to meditate to Him. Jesus tried to let the deciciples hold on their faith for the great commission of spreading His characteristics and the good news '' Mathew 28 Vs 19-20''. Jesus wanted His decipled to know that His mission was about to be accomplished for the salvation of all. This shows that Jesus loved His deciples He assured them that on the third day He will be raised up.

Why does Jesus keep telling the disciples that He is about to die?
The death on the cross in Jerusalem by Jesus, was the ultimate victory over satan and evil. It was prophesied that the Messiah would be handed over to the gentiles, be tortured, and the third day resurrect. By that death, all would know beyond any doubt that he was the messiah. God`s plan to redeem, save, and reconcile mankind would also be accomplished. Satan would put up a firm but vain attempt to destroy God`s seed and plan, but that death would lead to the crowning of Jesus. Creation would once again be reconciled to the Dormain of the Heavenly Father. Jesus wanted the Disciples prepared for it, otherwise they would be afraid and heartbroken. He knew the World Mission would rest on the Disciples, after he went back up to heaven.

Jesus was preparing his disciples for what was about to happen to him in Jerusalem. And all this had to take place in order him to fulfill what was written in the scriptures. And it wouldn`t be a total surprise to his disciples when he came back to life on the third day. Because Jesus rose from the dead, his followers have a new life now. They will also rised again with new bodies when Jesus comes again. Praise the Lord!
