Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God?
Even before any of the false witnesses, they already decided upon Jesus guilt. When the high priest said tell us whether you are the Christ the Son of God, Jesus said He was God's Son and that one day He would sit beside God in heaven. The high priest did not believe it and said it was blasphemy worthy of death.

Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God?
Usually, the Pharisees does not know the scriptures, neither do they know the way of the Lord, the LORD OF lords is with them but they don't see him, they were blind, spiritually blinded, God Himself is with them yet they argue with them; even this scripture alone is enough for one to know whom Christ is ''John 1:1-3'' ,In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made,..

Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God?
The H.priest considered Jesus` words blasphemy because he did not Know the nature and power of God. Jesus is operating in a spiritual realm, while the priest and his colleagues are operating on the carnal. It is truly blasphemous for Jesus, whom they `know` his parentage, to claim divinity / Godly authority, according to the law. Just like the priests, we are also to be pitied for our short-sightedness, which makes us deny the power of the All powerful God, for Nothing is Impossible with god.

Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God?
They just wanted evidence''false''to use to prosecute Jesus.Regardless of His answer, they were going to find a way to prosecute Him.In accepting and informing them thatb He was the Christ, Jesus spoke the truth.Howver, the sahedrins did not believe Him, and considered this proclamation a blasphemy.

Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God?
The high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the son of God firstly becasue they did not believe in him and secondly they wanted evidence against him so he would be worthy of death because they could find no fault with him..Hence the reason the high priest tore his clothing, saying, He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy. What do you think? They answered, He is worthy of death! Then they spit in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him, saying, Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who hit you?

Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God?
they belived that the messia will put an end to the slavery that the jews are in. and give them the promessed land. Jesus in their eyes was not exactly what they have been waiting for. so when jesus told them i am he, that wasd just an excuse to find him guilty of a crime.

Before the Sanhedrin

Those who had taken Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together. But Peter followed him from a distance, to the court of the high priest, and entered in and sat with the officers, to see the end. Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole council sought false testimony against Jesus, that they might put him to death; and they found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward, and said, "This man said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.'"
The high priest stood up, and said to him, "Have you no answer? What is this that these testify against you?" But Jesus held his peace. The high priest answered him, "I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God."
Jesus said to him, "You have said it. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky."
Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, "He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy. What do you think?"
They answered, "He is worthy of death!" Then they spit in his face and beat him with their fists, and some slapped him, saying, "Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who hit you?"
