In John`s biography of Jesus, we read something that Jesus said about doing the works of His Father:  "I must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day" (John 9:4).

Jesus did God`s work because sought to please God, not Himself. He surrendered His will to God:   "... because I don`t seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me" (John 5:30).
