Why did the disciples fish after Jesus had died?
In John`s Gospel, chapter 21, some of the disciples returned to fishing. This was possibly because they didn`t believe Jesus would be resurrected and that He`d continue taking care of them if they would do His work (feed His sheep).

Read that passage here in John 21:1-14.

Why did the disciples fish after Jesus had died?
Two possible reasons: One, because they were human and had failed Him by deserting Him when He needed them the most, during His trial and death. Like believers today, when we fail Him, we feel unworthy - that He wouldn't want to have anything to do with us or be able to use us because of our failure. Secondly, Peter seemed to be the "ring leader" and since his failure was denying Jesus; he probably felt the worst and most likely led the way back to the old familiar way of life- fishing.
