The point Jesus is making when He states "eternal life" is knowing the Father and Jesus Christ is that anyone believes in Jesus Christ believes God the Father too, and will never die, will live for ever with the Son and the Father.

What point is Jesus making when He states "eternal life" is knowing the Father and Jesus Christ?
Hello dear friends, this is alittle complicated to me but eternal life is the life after death which we can only achieve if we believed Jesus and so is the father. If we die while believing Jesus, then we shall have eternal life.

What point is Jesus making when He states "eternal life" is knowing the Father and Jesus Christ?
Jesus's point here is that He is God the son the creator of the universe. He is claiming that He was there before the earth existed. Jesus is God the provider of life. He accoplished that which He came for to give life in its fullness " John 10 Vs 10". Jesus has all authority given to Him from God the father to give erternal life to all who believe in Him. When one know God (Daniel 11 Vs 32) and believe in Jesus (2 Cholonicles 20 Vs 20) God will give him/her erternal life. Believe in only true God who gave authority to Jesus that you receive erternal life. Definately, you will have life in its fullness " John 10 Vs 10"

What point is Jesus making when He states eternal life is knowing the Father and Jesus Christ?
Jesus is saying that He and His Father are ONE. If you accept Jesus into your heart as the Son of God and believe that He sacrificed Himself on the cross so that your sins would be forgiven by God Almighty, then you are given eternal life.

Jesus Prays for Himself

Jesus said these things, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may also glorify you; even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give eternal life to all whom you have given him. This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ. I glorified you on the earth. I have accomplished the work which you have given me to do. Now, Father, glorify me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world existed.
