What does it mean to be rich toward God?
Richness in spirit - detachment from eartly possessions. When you have cuumulated them what do you do? they are of no value in the Kingdom but only a means to do good to others on this earth. On loan.To be exchanged for heavenly treasure by making them bear good fruit. Foolish to get attached when death will physically part us from those. But most of all it`s our spiritual death we risk to bring to ourselves. A short story by Verga comes to mind: La Roba. The main character cumulates a lot of material goods and when about to die starts crushing all to pieces slashing even the hens with a stick cause he cannot bring all this with him. Literal madness too - loss of proportiosn - inordinate attachments and cravings sprouting. Addictions of all sorts sprouting.

What does it mean to be rich toward God?
To be rich toward God means God is first priority and do not worry about storing up for youself but rely on God. Do not worry about what to wear and what to eat for the life is much more important. You have God and life God will provides, the birds, the animals and fishes do not worry God provides food for them.

What does it mean to be rich toward God?

To put God first in every thing you do by doing the will of God and speaking the word of God. Humble yourself before the Lord and he will reward you and bless you. Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where theives do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21

What does it mean to be rich toward God?
To me, it means wanting what God wants, not what I want.  It means putting God first and asking Him FIRST before making any decision what it is He wants me to do.  Usually, when I want something and I ask God first, He tells me to just wait and He'll provide what I need in His time.  And it is ALWAYS better than what I would have gotten for myself if I had not listened.  Always!  Put God first in your life and you will see right away what I am talking about.

What does it mean to be rich toward God?
Hello dear friends, I think the issue is loving God fast and follow all his statutes. So the people how love God on the inside and follow his ways are the ones he can call richer than the earthly possessions that we are strugling for which even don't help us to inherit the kingdom of GOD

What does it mean to be rich toward God?
The best thing to be rich toward God is to keep away from covetousness and not to be proud of earthly possessions. This means that we need to store up our riches in heaven. When we lay our treasures in heaven,God will bless us at the same time we will posses our possossions(Obadiah 1 Vs 16-19).

The Parable of the Rich Fool

One of the multitude said to him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me."
But he said to him, "Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?" He said to them, "Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man's life doesn't consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses."
He spoke a parable to them, saying, "The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly. He reasoned within himself, saying, 'What will I do, because I don't have room to store my crops?' He said, 'This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. I will tell my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, be merry."'
"But God said to him, 'You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared--whose will they be?' So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."
