Unfolding the parable
OK, so Jesus curses a fig tree because it doesn’t have any fruit on it. It’s not in season, so why is Jesus so upset with a measly little Fig Tree?

Many people in the world claim they’re Christians just because they go to church for the Christmas and Easter service or because they own a bible. They have the outward appearance of a Christian but really, there’s nothing there. No real relationship with the Lord. The Fig Tree in the parable looks like it has fruit from a distance, but when Jesus gets closer and takes a good look at the tree, there’s nothing there. Just leaves. So when someone claims that he’s a Christian and really is not then he is baring no spiritual fruit.

What lesson do you think Jesus taught the disciples by cursing the fig tree?
Jesus taught the deciples three lessons. ''1''--Despite that the time for the tree to produce fruit is not yet reach. That every child of God must be alert for the work of His father at any point in time. ''2''--Jesus taught them that they should have faith without no doubt, for by so doing they can even do more than the work He did. ''3''--With my on exprience, Jesus was passing a DIFFICULT time on that moment for HUNGER catched HIM, it was what attracted His attention to the fig tree. That whenever you are in a difficult situation focsse your attention on God, mind you it is also an easy way of knowing He who is on the Lord`s side, EXAMPLE Job. Remember what Isaiah 43:1-3 said when you are passing difficult time in your life I am always with you.

What lesson do you think Jesus taught the disciples by cursing the fig tree?
The fig tree should have been productive - it was in full leaf and yet was not producing fruit. Jesus shows us here that if we do not make use of our life and the gifts God has given us for His glory, we can easily and swiftly lose this life and hope of eternal life.

What lesson do you think Jesus taught the disciples by cursing the fig tree?
He taught them to have faith. He taught them never to doubt anything when thet pray. He taught them that by prayer, they would receive whatever they asked. He taught them that as believers, and unlike that fig tree, they ought to bear fruits, all season.

Is there any need for those christians who nolonger bear fruits, to keep going to the worship centres? Would Jesus be patient with `backsliders`?

What lesson do you think Jesus taught the disciples by cursing the fig tree?
The fig three is not productive, the lesson to be taught is if the individual or groups were not bearing a fruit meaning the christian growth is stagnant, the true christians were feeding the spirit by worshiping, phrasing, praying, singing, meditating and serving God. Lord Jesus Christ had given the example of the fig three not only to the disciples but also in us, nothing is imposible to God if we adore him and believe him in prayer.

The Fig Tree Withers

Now in the morning, as he returned to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves. He said to it, "Let there be no fruit from you forever!"
Immediately the fig tree withered away. When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree immediately wither away?"
Jesus answered them, "Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith, and don't doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it would be done. All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
