| Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God? |
Jesus' penalty for "sin" needed to include physical and emotional pain because God said that the punishment for sin is death. A person is made up of physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects. For the complete punishment of sin to occur, it must include physical and emotional pain. One experience in one of the parts of man, either spiritual, emotional, or physical, affects the others. For example, when we are emotional bruised, we feel it physical (as in tears or stomache pain) and there is spirtual pain that occurs, because there may be a disconnect of your spirit with the one or thing that hurt you. Spirtual separation alone is not sufficient penalty for sin because sin is very ugly and deserves the worst punishment, demonstrated by how Jesus was treated and how He died on the cross. | "Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished?" |
He accomplished all these purposes, two thousand years ago and everyday since. He demonstrated God's love with everything He did - discipling outcasts, reaching out to outcasts, healing people, feeding people, teaching people. He brought the Good News to others by what He taught and did, by dying on the cross and rising again to complete and prove His message. He sacrificed Himself for others by living His early years as the perfect child, under His human parents, though He was God. He devoted His time and energy to His ministry, not having a source of income or home, but relying on others. He never made much of Himself, but pointed to the Father. He died on the cross, rose, and taught the disciples. He made little of Himself so that others may benefit. He is a source of abundant life all His friends, family, and disciples of His time and all His current followers now, if we would all turn to Him and put everything for Him, rather than for ourselves. He is the source of abundant life because of what He reveals to us to do and His help to do it. For example forgiveness. He tells us to forgive and helps us to forgive when we ask and this is part of the path to abundant life because you cannot have abundant life hanging onto bitterness and unforgiveness. He helps people understand the Kingdom of God by living it and pointing it to the Father. We cannot know what the Kindgom of God is without seeing it and how it looks like. Because Jesus lived the Kingdom of God life (and we have a record of it), the disciples in the past and followers who read the Bible can see what it looks like and how to do it too. | How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him?" a "New" commandment? |
If we really knew Jesus, how much He loves us, how much we do not deserve it, how much we have done wrong by Him and been released from, His perfection and trustworthyness, we would be so grateful for His love, mercy, grace that we would love Him back, trust Him completely, and follow Him wholeheartedly. There would be no doubts, worry, questions, in obedience; there would be no disobedience.By: Kim Tran Category: Invite Me to be Close to You |

| If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss? |
What happens to those who are truly convinced of their religion and those who have not heard the Gospel? Why are Christians the minority and not the majority? How can we be sure of the right interpretation of the Bible; that the interpretation is from you God, and not mingled with manly ideas/desires? By: Kim Tran Category: Invite Me to be Close to You |

| "Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?) |
JESUS FULFILLED AS WRITTEN IN THE WORD OF GOD, he knews which was his destination. jesus save us of sin with his life and comply the wrote by the prophets jesus is love , forgiveness, above all is life we must to follow him forever and ever We can now see the parallel between the two-level analysis of the execution of Jesus and the two levels of the struggle between U.S. women Religious and the Vatican. At the surface level Jesus was executed to put a stop to his “stirring up the people” which threatened the status quo of the Empire and the Temple. But at the deepest level, although “they knew not what they were doing,” the officials were trying to neutralize the radical revolution Jesus was introducing into their “world.” Jesus was initiating, by his prophetic words and works, a “new creation,” totally at odds with the satanic domination systems in power not only in political and religious institutions but in the human race as a whole. He was inaugurating and inviting people into the Reign of God, into a regime of endless and unconditioned compassion that would overflow into and empower a new form of justice based not on retribution and coercive power but on forgiveness of sins and inclusion in the all-embracing love of God. The Resurrection was God’s “yes” to Jesus’ work and “no” to the murder that tried to stop it. By: Gustavo Castillo Category: Timeline - Final 1 Week |
