Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
Throughout God's Word; the Bible, He states that the penalty for sin is death.  This is both a physical and spiritual death.  Without Jesus enduring both physical and emotional pain, He would not have been able to reconcile us with the Father.  It also makes us aware that when Jesus died and rose again, it was a physical death and resurrection, not just a spiritual resurrection.  This is critial because we all will be physically resurrected when the Lord returns.

scarifice at times can be very painful, when we break the commandment we must know the penalty may be harsh.

for it were always easy, our strength in our belief in God may be as strong

Sacrifice at times can be very painful. When we break a commandment, we must know the penalty may be harsh for if it were always easy, our strength in our belief in God may not be as strong.  To continue building a stronger Kingdom of God we must be prepared to suffer if we stray off course.

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
İ dont think Jesus was trying to incite his death. The reason being that he already knew it was going to happen and that it had to happen for us to be saved.  He was just doing what was right in the eyes of God.  He wouldnt of been able  to see what was going on in the temple and not say anything.  He just fufilled the prophesy by doing and saying what he must.

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
Jesus was not trying to incite his own death if we see the events of the week indicate the orderly way in which they planned the death of jesus christ.jesus knew and predicted his death in so many ways and time.we thank the good lord for doing this because if it wasnt the event,we would have no way to the father the creator and no way to be near his kingdom and cleanse us from our sins we thank you.

Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?) No, Jesus was not trying to incite His death! The events of that week indicate the orderly way in which Christ's death had been planned,
