If John`s baptism was for repentance, then why do you think Jesus was baptized? Jesus was baptised with the Holy Spirit because god new that He would need all the help he could get to withstand the temptations that satan put before Him in the wilderness.We too need theb help of the Holy Spirit to withstand the pressures of satan in our every day lives and god wanted us to know that we are not alone .Jesus also depended n the holy Spirit for His strength at the time of great testing.He wanted us to know this in our hearts so He demonstrated this through His only son.
