God`s manifestation of his power and love towards the lowly and poor people occured even before.Abel was murdered by his brother, and God opposed and cursed Cain the murderer, The israelites were freed from slave under the king of egypt, By God.Our lesson today reflects the love of God towards people who can not defend thier self.but to put thier trust and hope only to the savior.YES!!! they are, they are worth dying for.

Befriending and Promoting the Lowly
Jesus during his ministry of three and a half years in this world ''earth'' associated mostly with the LOWLY. By lowly he not only meant the poor and needy, but also the poor and needy in SPIRIT, namely who were living in sin knowingly and unknowingly. The Samaritan women was one such person who perhaps believed that her divorce of four husbands before the one who she was living with was acceptable to her society. Jesus very clearly told his listeners then and to us now that He came into the world to save the lowly, associating Himself with tax collectors, prostitutes and others sinners. He expects US to do the same and not point fingers but with open arms embrace those who need our understanding, sympathy, charity and above all our LOVE.

Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?
Yes, Jesus thought that lowly people were very valuable. He spent a good bit of his time trying to love those who others saw as not deserving of anything. lepers, tax collectors, those accused of adultry - The priests used his love for sinners against him till the day He died on the cross.

The Value of People
Jesus believed and acted accordingly that ALL people had value. The person`s social, economic, political or religious status did not matter to Him. ALL people are created by God, deserving of compassion and love, and able to have a place to seat at the heavenly banquet. Serving Christ, Together & Forever! Clara

Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?
Yes, sure. Jesus believes lowly people are valuable. He said , it is not healthy who need a doctor but the sick, he has not come to call righteous, but sinners, therefore he blessed are the poor in spirit , the son of the man come to seek and save what was lost , And encourage us to invite the poor when we give a banquet and we will be blessed And he teaches us to say `we are unworthy servant, we have only done our duty How valuable? He blesses the little children, because he has hidden these things from wise and learned He said, if anyone wants to be first he must be the very last, and servant of all He blessed are the poor in spirit

Now all the tax-gatherers and the sinners were coming near Him to listen to Him. And both the Pharisees and the scribes began to grumble, saying, "This man receives sinners and eats with them." ( Luke 15:1-2)

Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." ( Matthew 19:13-14)

He called the twelve and said to them, "If any one wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all." And taking a child , He stood him in the midst of them; and taking him in His arms, He said to them, "Whoever receives one child like this in My name is receiving Me; and whoever receives Me is not receiving Me, but Him who sent Me." ( Mark 9:35-37)

And He sat down opposite the treasury, and began observing how the multitude were putting money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which amount to a cent. And calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on." ( Mark 12:41-44)

There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink." For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. The Samaritan woman therefore said to Him, ‘How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) ( John 4:7-9)

And it came about when He went into the house of one of the leaders of the Pharisees on the Sabbath to eat bread, that they were watching Him closely…And he went on to say to the one who had invited Him, "When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and repayment come to you. But when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, since they do not have the means to repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous." ( Luke :-1-:1)
