Why is Love necessary in the Chrisitian Kingdom?
Love is necessary because if we loves, there will be no room for hatred, gossipping, backbitting etc. All things either wrong or good will be motivated by Love. Let follows the example of our great leader, JESUS CHRIST. He not only love but demonstrated it in several occassions, e.g. He Love in His Father and Keep His Commandments. He Loved but the poor and the riche and healed all their infirmity.

Did Jesus redefine how to love one another?

Hello,

I have been searching for answers regarding a few questions about something Jesus said.

The original second great commandment mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 22:37-40 was first given in Leviticus 19:18, “you shall love your neighbor as yourself;”

The new commandment was given by Jesus in John 13:34, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”

Then Jesus tells us ‘how’ He loves us in John 15:9, “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you;”

So, Jesus loves us just as the Father loves Him.

Are we now to love one another (including our self) just as the Father loves Jesus?

If so, then did ‘how’ we are to love one another change with the coming of Jesus (and His finished work culminating at the cross), from being defined by the Mosaic Law to being defined by how the Father loves Jesus?

Any help in directing me to materials or persons that can help answer these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Warmly

Love God with Heart, soul, mind and strength
1'' Treasured - My soul is eternal, and is what Jesus has purified and sees now as perfect. God treasures my soul. I can love God with my soul. 2'' Transformed - My heart ''emotions'' and mind ''thoughts'' are still sinful, yet are being transformed to become more like Jesus. Yet, I can love God with my heart and mind. 3'' Traded - My body ''strength'' will be destroyed, and traded for a heavenly body. I can love God with my body ''strength and actions''.

How do you love your enemy with sincerity
I believe this is one of the hardest things to do when someone has wrong you beyond your own understanding. What does one do to truly be loved?

'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. "And a second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." ( Matthew 22:37-40)

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." ( John 13:34-35)

"Whatever you want others to do for you, do so for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." ( Matthew 7:12)

"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward in heaven will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men." ( Luke 6:35)

"Whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many." ( Mark 10:43-45)

"If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you." ( John 13:14-15)
