the statement AND the action
Morn! The first action is an action of healing. He provides the people around with some sensorial proof of his powers - a man who could not walk before stands up and walk. I seem to remember that often there are references to the ears and eyes - don`t you have ears and eyes to see - although also faith - blind childlike trust is needed. Somewehere he says you have eyes but do not see ears but do not hear. Here is the importance of prayer trusting leaning toward God. The real miracle is the healing of the man from his sins as Jesus says explicitly but as the Pharisees do not want to beleive he stresses the sensorial miracle just performed: before that man could not walk and now he can walk away taking away his own mat.

Jesus claim to be God
The statement that Jesus claim to be God is by saying to the paralytic `son your sins are forgiven you`. It may be nesessary to be observed that it was a fundamental principle of the Jews that no desease could be healed till all his sins were blotted out, and God alone who forgived all our iniquities.

Jesus is God
In today`s lesson, we can see four people carried a paralytic to Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic ``Son, your sins are forgiven to you``. By this sentence, Jesus claimed that He is God. There had some scribes. They reasoned in their hearts that God can only forgive sins. Jesus perceived their thoughts and said that Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. Then He told to the paralytic - ``Arise, take up your bed, and walk``. And the paralytic arose and immediately took up the mat and went out of them all. Through this event, Jesus proved that He is God. By giving healing to the paralytic, Jesus claimed His authority over sin and sickness.

Whether physical healing is a proof of forgiveness of sin?
It is a fact that healing is given by God. But it is not a proof of forgiveness of sin. Bible says ``If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness ''1John 1:9''.

Jesus Heals a Paralytic
Jesus gave authority to heal even the sick and cause the lame to walk. Hecan see the hearts of man and he can even forgive us our sins. This makes Jesus the son of God and God make man in his own likeness.

Jesus Heals a Paralytic
Jesus claims tp be God because of His word to the Paralytic man ``But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins``--he said to the paralytic--``I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house.`` Because no way has such authority and ever comment like Him before.

By what statement or action does Jesus claim to be God?
But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. By this statement Jesus claims to be God. Only God has the power to forgive, and to abolish sin from the life that he has given us. Only God has the power to let us choose to believe in him or not.

By what statement or action does Jesus claim to be God?
First Jesus told the paralytic his sins were forgiven him, and when that got the righteous going he told him to take up his bed and go home, he was healed. Showing the judgemental that he could do BOTH.

Jesus Heals a Paralytic

When he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that he was in the house. Immediately many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even around the door; and he spoke the word to them. Four people came, carrying a paralytic to him. When they could not come near to him for the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. When they had broken it up, they let down the mat that the paralytic was lying on. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you."
But there were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, "Why does this man speak blasphemies like that? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
Immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, "Why do you reason these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to tell the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven;' or to say, 'Arise, and take up your bed, and walk?' But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"--he said to the paralytic--"I tell you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your house."
He arose, and immediately took up the mat, and went out in front of them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this!"
